Japan Local Radio lists every local radio station in Japan, on the web, Windows, Android and iOS.

Most questions are about why one station plays and another does not. The short answer: each broadcaster decides how, and from where, it can be heard. The app labels every station so you know before you press play.

What the labels mean

Play: the station publishes an open stream, and it plays right here, including in the background, on the lock screen, in CarPlay and Android Auto.
Play at source: the station only streams through its own player. The app opens that player for you. Audio from it may stop when you leave that page.
Listen in app: the station streams only through its network's own app or website (such as FM++ or ListenRadio). The app hands you over to it.
Japan only: the broadcaster, NHK in particular, only allows listening from inside Japan. This is the broadcaster's restriction, and it cannot be lifted from our side.
No stream: the station broadcasts over the air only and has no internet stream. It is listed so the directory is complete.

A station that usually plays will not start

Many community stations run their stream on a single small server, and it sometimes goes offline. When a station has more than one stream, the app tries the next one automatically. If none answers, please try again later. The station list itself is refreshed every day, so a station that has moved its stream usually comes back on its own.

I am in Japan but see “Japan only”

The app asks the broadcaster whether it will serve you. A VPN, some corporate networks and some roaming SIMs can make you appear to be outside Japan. Turn the VPN off or switch networks, then reopen the app.

A station is missing, or its details are wrong

Please email us with the station's name and what should change. Corrections are checked by hand and usually appear within a few days.

Japan Local Radio は、日本全国のローカルラジオ局をまとめた案内です。ウェブ、Windows、Android、iOSで利用できます。

よくあるご質問は「なぜこの局は再生できて、あの局はできないのか」です。どのように、どこから聴けるかは各放送局が決めています。アプリでは、再生前にわかるよう全局に表示を付けています。

表示の意味

再生：放送局が公開している配信を、そのまま再生できます。バックグラウンド、ロック画面、CarPlay、Android Autoでも聴けます。
提供元で再生：放送局自身のプレーヤーでのみ配信されています。アプリがそのプレーヤーを開きます。ページを離れると音声が止まる場合があります。
アプリで聴く：FM++やListenRadioなど、配信サービス自身のアプリやサイトでのみ聴けます。アプリからそちらへ移動します。
日本国内のみ：NHKなど一部の放送局は、日本国内からの聴取のみを許可しています。放送局側の制限のため、当方で解除することはできません。
配信なし：地上波のみで、インターネット配信を行っていない局です。案内を網羅するため掲載しています。

いつもは聴ける局が再生されない

コミュニティ放送局の多くは、小さな配信サーバー1台で運用されており、一時的に停止することがあります。複数の配信がある局では、アプリが自動的に次の配信を試します。どれも応答しない場合は、時間をおいてお試しください。放送局一覧は毎日更新されるため、配信先が変わった局も多くの場合は自然に復旧します。

日本国内にいるのに「日本国内のみ」と表示される

アプリは放送局に聴取可能かどうかを問い合わせています。VPN、一部の社内ネットワーク、海外SIMのローミングなどでは、国外からの接続と判断されることがあります。VPNをオフにするか、別のネットワークに切り替えてから、アプリを開き直してください。

局が載っていない・情報が間違っている

局名と修正内容をメールでお知らせください。内容は手作業で確認し、通常は数日以内に反映されます。
